Heaven Can Wait (1943)

Henry van Cleve, a wealthy and reckless man, finds himself at the gates of Hell after his death. He believes he belongs there due to his extravagant lifestyle, but the devil questions whether he truly deserves eternal damnation. Henry reflects on his past actions, recounting both the positive and negative aspects of his life. One particular indiscretion during his marriage to Martha weighs heavily on his conscience as he awaits judgment from the devil.
