In this mysterious adventure, Gabbie (Rosario Dawson), a single mother, and her 9-year-old son Travis (Chase Dillon) move into a large mansion with remarkably low rent, hoping to start a new life. Soon, they realize that strange things await them in this house in New Orleans. Desperate for help, the mother and son reach an agreement with a priest (Owen Wilson) who understands that the house is surrounded by supernatural entities. Together with the priest, a French medium (Tiffany Haddish), a grumpy historian (Danny DeVito), and a former scientist turned paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), they try to cope with the bizarre situation in the house.
