Two friends Rick and Fred (Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis) are long-married. They love their wives, but like some other men, they can't help but stare at the women they meet. Tired of this customary eyewash, their wives (Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate) take the bold step of resurrecting their marriage and giving their husbands a "blank check": the two men can do whatever they want for a week without asking any questions. They have seven days to see what they think they've missed or to put an end to that search forever. At first, it seems like a dream come true for Rick and Fred. But they soon discover that their solitary life and their expectations of themselves are completely, even ridiculously, far from the truth.
