Greyfriars Bobby (1961)
In the cobbled streets of 1865 Edinburgh, an elderly shepherd and his devoted Skye terrier, Bobby, arrive from the Scottish Highlands. Tragedy strikes when the shepherd succumbs to pneumonia, leaving Bobby inconsolable. The loyal dog refuses all comfort, choosing instead to vigilantly guard his master's grave in Greyfriars Kirkyard.
Obstacles arise in the form of a stern caretaker, enforcing a strict "no dogs" policy. Further complicating matters, Bobby faces legal peril for being unlicensed, leaving his fate to be determined by the compassionate children of Edinburgh and the Lord Provost, in a decision that would capture the city's heart.
