In 1989, Alex's mother, who lives in East Germany, suddenly falls into a coma. During his eight months in a coma, unexpected events occur in the world political order. When Christiana, one of the Communist Party's most staunch defenders and alleged supporters, wakes up eight months later, the world she lives in is very different from the one she imagined. the Berlin Wall fell; capitalism began to manifest itself in East Germany. Given the mother's already fragile health, Alex decides to hide these facts from her! But it won't be easy. As the winds of change begin to blow not only on the streets but also inside the houses, she builds a surreal fairy tale world where they are the only ones to protect her mother from all these facts. The film, which received the European Film Academy's Best European Film Award in 2003, became one of the favorites of international festivals.
