In the mid-1800s, a fierce battle takes place between two gangs living on the outskirts of Manhattan, USA. On the one hand, a group of immigrants from America, on the other hand, a community of Irish Catholics who later immigrated to this region. The natives are led by a brutal leader named Butcher Bill, while the Irish immigrants are led by a leader called the Dead Rabbits. During a bloody war between them, the leader of an Irish gang is killed and his son Amsterdam Wallon witnesses his father's death personally. Amsterdam must take action to take revenge on her father's murderer and take control of the city. Directed by chief director Martin Scorsese, the film draws attention especially with its large cast.
