Le voyage du ballon rouge 2007

Flight of the red balloon 2007 Film "Le voyage du ballon rouge" The Journey of the Red Balloon (Le Voyage du Ballon Rouge) is Taiwanese chief director Hou Hsiao-Hsien's first film shot in the West and shot in French. As the name of the movie suggests, it is inspired by director Albert Lamorisse's 1956 short film The Red Balloon, which was very popular all over the world. In Howe's story, a mysterious red balloon circling the streets of Paris, chasing a lonely boy, passes through the same streets perhaps 50 years later, witnessing shattered lives, broken families and desolation in the heart of a large and crowded city. Chasing the Red Balloon, Little Simon (Simon Iteanu) lives with his mother, Suzanne (Juliette Binoche), in a one-room apartment. Suzanne, a voice actress at a puppet theater, struggles with the pressure of raising a child alone. He finds a Chinese student named Sun to take care of Simon. Suzanne sometimes remembers neglecting her son and indulges him with guilt. However, his problems with the downstairs tenant and his ex-wife cloud his attempts to understand his son's emotional world. The Journey of the Red Balloon first met the audience as the opening film in the Un Certain Regard section of the 60th Cannes Film Festival in May 2007 and received great acclaim.
