In the late 1800s, a pivotal moment arrived in 14-year-old Lise's life that would alter her path forever. As the eldest among her siblings, she carried a sense of responsibility and ambition, being the first in her family to attend school. However, fate took an unexpected turn when her mother unexpectedly went into labor. The atmosphere grew tense as the night descended, revealing ominous signs that all was not well. With each passing hour, Lise felt the weight of impending change pressing down on her young shoulders, realizing that the day which began with childhood innocence might conclude with her assuming the role of the woman of the house.
