Drunkboat (2012)

After two decades lost to alcohol and solitude, Mort Gleason’s world shifts when he witnesses his nephew Moo being assaulted during a drunken haze. This brief connection jolts Mort back to reality, prompting his return to his childhood home in Chicago. There, his sister Eileen resides with her sixteen-year-old son, Abe. Moo's disappearance ignites Mort’s need to reconnect. Weeks pass, and Mort tentatively reenters family life. Meanwhile, Abe dreams of adventure, saving for a sailboat named Kathy II. He and a friend plot to purchase it from two shady characters, who run a liquor business and a sporadic boatyard.
