The story of two boys who discover friendship in a fantasy world they have created. Hungarian children's film director Gábor Csupo proved that a fantastic children's movie can be made on a small budget with his first feature, Bridge to Terabithia, and he doubled the budget, making the producers happy at the box office. Adapted by Paterson's son from Katherine Paterson's 1977 novel of the same name, the film is about the friendship of two children from different social backgrounds and their adventures in a fantastic world they have built for themselves called Terabithia. The director, who does not want to disturb the privacy of the novel, prefers to keep the visual effects to a minimum while giving high priority to the strong friendship of the two children. As in many children's fantasy films, a chain of events that develops and connects with a coming-of-age story is brought to the screen with a grace that makes an adult watch the movie with excitement. Moreover, the adult cast of the movie is just as great as the child actors.
