Spring is an exciting time for high school students looking forward to college. Portia Nathan (Tina Fey), a member of the admissions committee at Princeton University, reviews applications. As every year, Portia brings together students who will be selected for admission to the university. While visiting New Quest, she meets her classmate teacher, John Pressman (Paul Rudd). John's gifted student Jeremiah (Nat Wolf - New Year's Eve) is about to be accepted into Princeton University. The key point about Jeremiah; John suspects that Jeremiah is the son Portia will apprentice to.
