Mike Enslin is a man trying to prove that there is no reality beyond the here and now. There is no other life...no God...no second chances...or is it? Based on the spooky short film by horror guru Stephen King. Famous horror novelist Mike Enslin (John Cusack) believes only what he sees with his own eyes. After writing a series of bestselling books denouncing paranormal events in fictional haunted houses and cemeteries, Enslin begins his new project in room 1408 of the infamous Dolphin Hotel, where his ghosts and lonely nights begin to change. Despite warnings from the hotel manager (Samuel Jackson), the author is the first person to have lived in this allegedly haunted room in years. A new leaderboard is coming, but like many other Stephen King heroes, he must first face his demons to survive.
