Mandy Yang is a student who has worked her entire life to get to Harvard. But with her acceptance being delayed, she decides to do everything to get her place on the waiting list. To that end, he has to enlist the help of popular basketball star Graham Lansing, whose father is a senator and a Harvard graduate. When Graham becomes Mandy's tutor, she realizes there's more to her than she thought. In the process, his best friend Ben is also busy with the 80s-themed prom proposals in his life. Mandy begins to explore herself and her life with Graham's help as she continues to progress with her Harvard dream.
